Welcome to Can-Do Japanese by JapanesePod101.com.
みなさん、こんにちは。かのうかなです。
"Hi everyone! I'm Kana Kano."
In this lesson, you'll learn how to talk about your occupation in Japanese.
This is Mark Lee, and he's on a plane to Japan.
He asks the passenger sitting next to him, Ken Kobayashi,
"Mr. Kobayashi, are you a student?"
リー マーク: こばやしさんは がくせいですか。 (Kobayashi-san wa gakusei desu ka.)
Listen to the conversation, and focus on Ken's response.
Ready?
リー マーク: こばやしさんは がくせいですか。 (Kobayashi-san wa gakusei desu ka.)
こばやし けん: いいえ、がくせいでは ありません。とうしかです。 (Iie, gakusei de wa arimasen. Tōshika desu.)
Once more with the English translation.
リー マーク: こばやしさんは がくせいですか。 (Kobayashi-san wa gakusei desu ka.)
Mark Lee: "Mr. Kobayashi, are you a student?"
こばやし けん: いいえ、がくせいでは ありません。とうしかです。 (Iie, gakusei de wa arimasen. Tōshika desu.)
Ken Kobayashi: "No, I'm not a student. I'm an investor."
